Yael Stein was born in Australian and lives in New York City since 2013 She played Lorna Morrello's character in Orange Is the New Black. Yael was awarded her NIDA diploma. At a very young age, Yael has been lucky enough to work with Australia's premiere storytellers, luminaries of the stage and visionaries working behind the scenes of film as well as theatre and television. Yael has had a long and successful career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael made New York City her home following the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced the critically acclaimed production. Yael co-founded The Cannery. From an Bushwick, Brooklyn studio, The Cannery encourages writing, innovative creative initiatives, and encourages the growth of writers in their teens.
